Which Speedo Fastskin Goggles Should You Choose?

All Speedo Fastskin goggles are made for racing, but they do not all fit the same. The best choice depends on the swimmer’s face shape, eye socket, nose bridge and how firm they like a racing goggle to feel.

Here is our simple guide to the main Speedo Fastskin racing goggle ranges.

Speedo Speedsocket 2

Speedsocket 2 is the classic Speedo racing goggle. It has a firmer racer fit and, in our experience, can work well for swimmers with deeper set eyes, a higher nose bridge or swimmers who have previously struggled with softer fitting goggles.

Speedo Hyper Elite

Hyper Elite is a popular race day choice for swimmers who want a more comfortable Fastskin fit with excellent enhanced vision. It is available in adult and junior sizes, making it a strong option for competitive swimmers across different age groups.

Speedo Pure Focus

Pure Focus is the elite racing goggle in the Fastskin range. It has extra race day features, including a tension scale strap, stabilising side arms and a premium futuristic look for swimmers who want a technical performance goggle.

Our fitting advice

Do not choose your racing goggles by colour alone. The goggle should sit securely without needing to be pulled painfully tight. Check the nose bridge, seal position and comfort around the eye socket before tightening the strap. A good race goggle should feel locked in, but not distracting before the swim.

Speedo Fastskin Goggles FAQ

Are Speedo Fastskin goggles made for racing?

Yes. Speedo Fastskin goggles are designed for competitive swimming and race day use, with low profile shapes, secure straps, anti-fog lenses and race-focused fit features.

What is the difference between Speedsocket 2 and Hyper Elite?

Speedsocket 2 has a firmer, classic racing goggle feel. Hyper Elite usually feels more comfortable around the eye and gives excellent race vision, making it a strong choice for many club and competitive swimmers.

Is Pure Focus better than Hyper Elite?

Pure Focus is the more technical racing goggle, with extra race-day features and a premium fit system. Hyper Elite is still a high-level racing goggle and may be the better choice if comfort is the main priority.

Do junior swimmers need junior Fastskin goggles?

Not always. Junior Fastskin goggles are useful for younger swimmers with smaller faces, but some juniors may need adult goggles earlier, depending on face shape and head size. Fit matters more than age alone.

Which Speedo Fastskin goggles are best for deep set eyes?

In our experience, Speedsocket 2 can be a good option for some swimmers with deeper set eyes or a higher nose bridge because it has a firmer, more traditional racing socket fit.
