QE2 Lake (Ashington)
The Queen Elizabeth II Country Park in Ashington has a large lake surrounded by open grassland and developing woodland. The beautiful surroundings are restored from industrial land and provide the perfect setting for open water swimmers. The lake gets used for open water swim training and events.
If you want to swim, you need to get involved with VO2 Max Racing Events. They have swimming classes on Thursday evenings from 18:00 to 20:00. Please note you must register online for this class and sign in on arrival. It is suitable for swimmers of all levels. You are free to join in the group activities or swim at your leisure.
