Arena Powerfin Pro

Arena Powerfin Pro II quick buying advice

The Arena Powerfin Pro II is a firmer short training fin for swimmers who already train regularly. From our experience, it feels heavier than a standard short training fin and works your legs harder, so expect to feel a little slower in the pool at first.

Best for Club and competitive swimmers who are ready for a stronger training fin.
New starters We suggest getting used to standard fins before moving into the Powerfin Pro II.
Sizing tip Unisex sizes match men’s sizing. For women’s sizing, subtract 1.5 from your UK shoe size.

Arena Powerfin Pro II sizing and training FAQs

Not sure if the Arena Powerfin Pro II is the right training fin, or unsure which size to choose? These are the questions we are most often asked by swimmers and parents when choosing this style of Arena fin.

Are Arena Powerfin Pro II fins good for beginners?

We usually suggest that new starters get used to standard training fins before moving into the Arena Powerfin Pro II. From our experience, the Powerfin Pro II feels heavier than a standard short training fin and works your legs harder, so it can feel like a big step up if the swimmer is not used to regular kick work.

Why do Arena Powerfin Pro II fins feel harder to swim in?

The Arena Powerfin Pro II is a firmer short training fin. From our experience, swimmers can feel a little slower in the pool at first because the fins work the legs harder than a softer or more standard training fin.

How should Arena Powerfin Pro II fins fit?

They should feel close and secure on the foot, but not painfully tight. The Powerfin Pro II has an open heel style, so the fit will feel different from a full foot fin. The fin should not slip around during kick sets, but it should not crush the foot either.

Is it okay if my toe comes through the front opening?

Yes. If your big toe comes through the front opening, that is fine. The important thing is that your other toes are not crushed inside the fin and that the foot still feels comfortable when swimming.

How do Arena Powerfin Pro II sizes work for women?

Arena Powerfin Pro II fins are listed in unisex sizes, which match men’s sizing as standard. To work out a women’s size, subtract 1.5 from the women’s shoe size. For example, if you are a UK women’s size 7.5, minus 1.5 and choose size 6 on the chart.

What should I do if the fins are slightly too big?

If the fins are only slightly too big, younger swimmers can wear a cotton trainer sock inside the fin to bulk out the fit until their feet grow. The fin should still feel secure enough that it does not move around too much during kick work.

What is the Arena Powerfin Pro II used for?

The Arena Powerfin Pro II is designed as a short training fin for swimmers working on kicking technique and lower body strength. The short inclined blade, open heel and toe opening are designed to support flexibility, kicking and comfort in the water.

What is different about the Arena Powerfin Pro II design?

The Powerfin Pro II has a short inclined blade, open heel, toe opening, grooved sides and a left and right foot specific shape. Arena also lists the fin as being made from silicone.

Is there a left and right Arena Powerfin Pro II fin?

Yes. The Arena Powerfin Pro II is shaped for the left and right foot, so check each fin before putting them on. This helps the fin sit on the correct foot as intended.
